We would like to reintroduce the Parent Collabora-tion Committee or as we have come to call it, the PCC to our ChildRoots families. When ChildRoots opened 9 years ago, we offered the PCC as a way to connect the owners with the classroom parents on a consistent basis. Now that our school has grown into 7 separate entities and 27 classrooms, its seems that restarting the PCC would also help each site connect with each other to share concerns and questions about our programs.
How it works: The PCC will meet on the 15th of each month at 6:30 PM. When the 15th falls on a weekend we would move the meeting to the Friday closest to the 15th. Each class-room would need one representative that would agree to be present for the majority of these meetings. This representative would solicit feedback from classroom families through the message board on the classroom Shutterfly account. The representative would then consolidate this information and these topics would be covered at the next meeting. One parent would be responsible for taking notes at the meetings and these notes would be shared to each classroom through the classroom’s Shutterfly accounts. We would host these meetings at each of our Center sites rotating through NW, NE and SE. Meetings will last no more than 1 hour.
Becoming a Rep: Any classroom parent can appoint them-selves to become a representative. A classroom parent would post their intent to become the classroom representative to their classrooms Shutterfly message board and to my email address: firstname.lastname@example.org. If more than one person has interest then the two applicants could alternate months in which they attend meetings.
I will send out the final list of representatives before our first meeting on Monday February the 15th.
