ChildRoots schools are progressive, play-based, and rooted in the philosophies of Reggio, RIE and constructivism. Our schools are beautiful, empowering places to learn and grow, and we're looking to fill a Preschool Specialist role at our Northwest Center!
A Preschool Specialist builds bridges between children, parents, Teachers and Directors. On a daily basis, they train and support our Teachers to ensure children are cared for with love and consistency, and they work closely with Directors to ensure that school operations run smoothly and are always in keeping with ChildRoots' philosophy of care. Best candidates will possess at least 2 years of experience caring for children in a center environment and be confident leading a small, close-knit team.
This position starts at $15.75/hour, opportunities for performance reviews and merit-based raises (up to $0.50/hour per review), and paid time off to all employees. For full-time employees (30+ hours/week), we also offer comprehensive, affordable health/vision & dental insurance and Holiday Pay for eight holidays & one week-long Winter Break each year.
A ChildRoots career begins with comprehensive training in our Reggio-, RIE-, and constructivism-inspired philosophy, and we also organize four onsite Professional Development Days per year to help you satisfy Oregon's continuing education requirements. Our beautiful, inviting environments are located in vibrant neighborhoods easily accessible by car, transit, and bicycle, and we offer hour-long lunch breaks to enable time for rest and relaxation during each day.
To work with us, you must be enrolled in Oregon's Central Background Registry.
Also, within your first 30 days of employment, you'll need to have or obtain:
• Food Handler's Card
• CPR/First Aid
• Completion of a Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect course.
• Completion of an Introduction to Child Care Health & Safety course
