ENROLLMENT PROCESS

The enrollment process consists of the following six steps. A virtual tour is provided here, in-person tours are available after enrollment has been offered.

1. JOIN PDX Waitlist

   If you are interested in enrollment, please join ChildRoots’ PDX Waitlist . They assess a $15 fee for their service, please note, ChildRoots does not charge a fee to join, and does not promise an exact place in line. Instead, we maintain lists of interested families for each classroom, and interviews are offered prior to enrollment to families whose enrollment needs/time best match the enrollment vacancy.

   As our cohorts are typically full, an enrolled child must leave the room for a vacancy to be created. This can and does happen for numerous reasons but there is no way to anticipate or know how long the wait will be to get into a particular cohort.

2. ENROLLMENT OFFER

   When an opening occurs in a cohort, we email all families on the list whose care needs align with the vacancy. Families that respond, will be invited to an interview and and considered for enrollment. The selected family will be emailed an offer of enrollment.

3. PARENT ORIENTATION

   Parent orientation takes the form of a mandatory, child-free, after-hours, Zoom meeting.

4. TRANSITION INTO CARE

   Each family will be able to discuss a transition plan for their child with the director of their child’s school.

5. SCHEDULED CARE BEGINS

   We offer care between 8:30-5:30 each day.
